Company Overview
Thriving on its portfolio of 65 patent families comprising more than 250 patents, Movea is a leading provider of motion processing chips, software, embeddable firmware, and IP for the Consumer Electronics industry. Movea's unique motion processing capabilities enable our customers and partners to quickly add motion intelligence to their products. That means companies can reduce the risk, cost, and Time-to-Market for delivering compelling new motion-based features which differentiate their products and create more end-user value.
Created in March 2007 by a team of industry leading researchers and senior management, Movea SA was a spinout of the French research institute CEA-Léti that specialized in the research and development of advanced motion sensing and processing technologies. In 2008, Movea acquired the Gyration consumer electronics brand in order to position itself as the global leader in motion-sensing technology for consumer applications. Our Gyration branded product portofolio of computer peripherals have sold over 3 million units.
Movea has a global reach with headquarters in Grenoble, France, a US subsidiary in Silicon Valley, California, as well as technology partners, manufacturing partners and distributors around the world. Our technology, patents, and products drive motion enabled applications for: set-top boxes and remote controls, IPTV, media-center and computer peripherals, sports, mobile, health and wellness.
Movea products include software and silicon solutions that apply innovative data fusion techniques to derive a deep understanding of human motion from raw data generated by gyroscopic, accelerometer, and magnetometer-based MEMS sensors. In other words, Movea closes the gap between market need and product reality with motion intelligence: the missing link between raw sensor data and compelling motion-enabled applications.
