Created in March 2007 by a team of industry leading researchers and executive management, Movea SA was founded from the French research institute CEA-Léti specializing in motion sensing technologies. Headquartered in Grenoble, France and Milpitas, California, Movea is the global leader in technology, patents, and products for motion-sensing applications in consumer, healthcare, mobile, and other markets. Movea’s corporate objective is industrializing and commercializing innovative motion capture solutions for a variety of market segments.

Movea products are based on a patented technology developed at CEA Leti, Minatec in Grenoble, France and the company is the inventor and patent holder of numerous innovative gyroscopic, accelerometer, and magnetometer based motion-sensing solutions. Patents include and cover the basic motion sensing use in any device or apparatus, algorithms for motion sensing devices, and graphical user interfaces.

In 2008, Movea acquired Gyration in order to position itself as the global leader in technology, patents, and products for motion-sensing applications in consumer electronics, healthcare, game, virtual reality, and other markets. Gyration branded products feature industry leading motion-sensing controllers for the rapidly expanding consumer “digital lifestyle” markets, including home entertainment, personal computing, and mobile computing segments.

Our flagship products are state-of-the-art wireless RF controllers and motion-sensing devices, including digital convergence remotes and desktop and portable in-air advanced mice. Gyration branded products are offered in the U.S. and Europe through retail and distribution channels, value added resellers, system integrators, and OEM partners.
