Movea Unveils Latest Data Fusion and Motion Sensing Products for Mobile and Smart TV at CES 2013
Movea to showcase groundbreaking technologies for pedestrian navigation, activity monitoring, context awareness and smart TV
LAS VEGAS – Jan. 7, 2013 – Movea (www.movea.com), the leading provider of motion sensing and data fusion technologies for mobile, Smart TV and sports, today revealed its exciting and unique demo experience at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). “The Data Fusion Experience: Making the Dream of Smarter Devices a Reality,” promises an immersive mobile technology experience and will demonstrate new motion sensing developments and how this technology can make an impact in the real world with mobile demonstrations including: indoor navigation, activity and environment monitoring, integration of mobile devices with Smart TV through convergence applications, and the latest in motion-enabled remote controls and gesture-based set-top boxes. The suite of demos will be delivered as a unified “consumer experience” clearly illustrating how Movea’s data fusion platform of engines, tools and data models enables devices to be more intelligent and deliver more value to consumers in all areas of life. Movea will be running these demos at the Las Vegas Hotel (formerly Las Vegas Hilton) by appointment only during CES from January 8 to 11.
For the first time on a single mobile platform, Movea will demonstrate four hardware agnostic, low-power, high-accuracy embedded modules in the MotionCore product family:
- MotionCore Foundation: the sensor fusion engine for motion processors, including continuous auto-calibration, dynamic 3D orientation, and tilt compensated e-Compass.
- MotionCore Indoor Navigation Engine: dead reckoning, map matching and distance calculation for pedestrians and indoor environments.
- MotionCore Context Engine: intelligent detection and monitoring of status, position, posture, activity and environment for devices and users.
- MotionCore Gesture Engine: robust gesture recognition for mobile device and mobile application control.
All MotionCore modules are flexible solutions that support both Android and Windows 8 operating systems and can be implemented on both sensor hub and application processor architectures. Movea develops technologies that bring devices, apps and content to life through motion and awareness by fusing information from sensors and data sources on mobile devices and in the cloud.
Additionally, visitors will be able to interact with MoveaTV and its new motion-based features that dramatically enhance the Smart TV experience. Movea’s SmartMotion Server, the motion and gesture recognition engine for digital home entertainment, easily integrates with Smart TV and STB platforms to enable intuitive motion and gesture-based navigation. MoveaTV allows users to simply point-and-click to navigate the user interface, or control apps and games with simple hand movements.
Partners such as GreenPeak Technologies, Nordic Semiconductor, SMK Electronics, ST Microelectronics, Texas Instruments, and Universal Electronics Inc. will showcase Movea SmartFusion™ Technology during CES. MoveaTV and MotionCore will be demonstrated on various remote control, set-top-box, Win8 Ultrabook & Mobile platforms.
